A source in the military-industrial complex told RIA Novosti that Rosgvardia will formulate technical requirements for the development of a serial version of the advanced Marker robot by the end of 2022. Its main tasks are to patrol critical facilities and to catch or suppress drones.

The robot was presented at the "EXPOTECHNOSTRAGE", which was held in the largest congress and exhibition center in St. Petersburg "EXPOFORUM".

"Now we are working out the capabilities and limitations of the Marker in the interests of the Rosgvardia. As a result, the customer should outline the requirements for the necessary tasks, on the basis of which the terms of reference for the development work will be formulated. By the end of 2022, the terms of reference for the creation of a robot in the interests of this agency must be received," the source notes.
The agency's interlocutor noted that this work began in the spring, after the "Marker" aroused great interest among the leadership of the Federal Guard Service at a specialized exhibition.

"At the first stage, the Rosgvard is interested in, shall we say, the "monotonous" functionality of the robot - patrolling the perimeter of the facility. The second stage is the use of "Markers" with a special load. Here we also need to understand that so far we are not talking about lethal weapons, but, for example, means to intercept and counter drones, including all kinds of nets and complexes of electronic warfare", - said the source.

Recall that the Marker robotic complex was developed with the participation of the Advanced Research Foundation. The platform has a mass of about 3 tons and can be equipped with various weapons. The development has the most advanced autonomous movement skills in Russia with object recognition based on artificial intelligence technologies.

The platform's autonomy is ensured by a modular multispectral vision system, with data processing by neural network algorithms. Over three years, key technologies were created, as well as two wheeled and three tracked autonomous platforms equipped with a unified payload module and an unmanned aerial vehicle cluster launch module.
